This dynamic watercolor was painted to illustrate the beauty and motion of this sport. James juxtaposes 3 skaters against a graphic red background. The cast shadows are a sophisticated gradated watercolor wash that transition from dark to light the way all cast shadows do. By combining these elements he has created an award winning work that is on display in Barcelona Spain. This painting also won awards in juried National Watercolor shows. Gleeson is a signature member of the California Watercolor Society CWS and the American Watercolor Society AWS.
